About the academy
Most keepers get ten minutes of shot-stopping at the end of team training. That isn't enough to get better.
RJ Goalkeeping Academy coaches goalkeepers and nobody else. Every session is built around handling, footwork, diving, distribution and decision making, at the standard academy keepers train to.
Sessions run in Garston and across South Liverpool, for keepers aged 6 to 16.

Ryan founded RJ Goalkeeping Academy to give keepers in Liverpool the specialist coaching usually kept inside professional academies.
A former professional goalkeeper, Ryan played for Leeds United, Rochdale, Richmond Kickers, Stockport County, AFC Liverpool and Bradford Park Avenue.
Today he coaches goalkeepers in a Category 1 academy. He has helped more than 30 keepers sign for pro club academies, and still takes every session himself.
Where we train
Goalkeepers travel to us from Garston, Speke, Hunts Cross, Allerton, Aigburth, Woolton, Mossley Hill, Cressington and Halewood, as well as across the wider Liverpool area.

We coach keepers aged 6 to 16. Small groups are split by age and ability so every keeper is challenged at the right level.
No. We work with grassroots keepers, academy keepers and keepers who are just starting out in goal. We'll assess them in the first session and go from there.
1:1s give the most focused improvement and suit keepers preparing for trials. 2:1s are great with a training partner. Small groups add match realism. If you're unsure, tell us about your keeper and we'll recommend one.

Gloves, boots suited to the surface, a water bottle and kit they're happy to dive in. Padded shorts or trousers are a good idea on artificial grass.
Nobody can promise that, and we won't. What we can do is coach your keeper to academy standard. More than 30 RJ keepers have already made the move.
